New Jersey Jackals News Release
Craig Conway went 3-for-3 while three Jackals pitchers combined on a five-hitter as New Jersey tipped North Shore 5-0 at Yogi Berra Stadium in Little Falls.
Trevor Marcotte (7-3) threw six scoreless innings, allowing four hits and three walks while striking out six. Matt Smith pitched the seventh and Joe Magri worked the eighth and ninth to complete the shutout.
Travis Bailey got New Jersey started in the bottom of the first, driving home John Anderson and Joe Kerrigan with a single. Darren Blakely tacked on an RBI single in the fourth to give New Jersey a 3-0 lead.
Conway picked up three singles, walked once, scored once and drove in a run.
The Jackals also dealt North Shore starter John Kelly his first loss of the year in 10 decisions.
New Jersey's John Anderson was 2-for-4 with a walk in the contest, extending his hitting streak to 16 games.
