
Amarillo Takes Game One from St. Paul

The Amarillo ThunderHeads opened their home stand with a 8-3 victory over previously unbeaten St. Paul.
Matt Larkins got the victory for Amarillo and improves to 2-0 on the young season. Larkins was sharp going 5 innings only giving up 3 hits and striking out 5.
There was plenty of power behind Larkins on the offensive side of things for the ThunderHeads. Logan Vick and Juan Martinez both hit home runs on the night to the delight of the home crowd announced at 2,100. Drew Heid also recorded 2 RBI's for Amarillo. Amarillo improves to 3-2 on the fresh American Association season. Amarillo used six pitchers on the night to contain St. Paul to only 8 hits.
The ThunderHeads are back in action tonight for game two of the set with St. Paul. First pitch is at 7:05.
