AMARILLO, TX - The hottest team in the North American Hockey League continues to move right along.

Matt Sieckhaus fired three goals to power the Amarillo Bulls to their seventh straight win, a 7-1 triumph over the Corpus Christi IceRays on Friday night at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center.

The Bulls have the longest winning streak of any team in the league this season. The victory improved their record to 8-2-1, and kept the Bulls alone in fourth place in the South Division just four points out of first place. Sieckhaus also added an assist for a four point game. Other goal scorers for Amarillo were Brendan McGuire, Mike Davis, Kyle Gattelaro and Carter Penzien. Forward Kyle Gattelaro and Roman Ammirato each collected three assists.

Goaltender Collin Delia stopped 24 of 25 shots he faced and had his shutout string snapped at over 170 minutes late in the second period.

"Our guys did play well tonight," said Bulls Head Coach Dennis Williams. "We did a good job of making their defense turn, and getting pucks in deep behind them. The guys capitalized on their opportunities and were physical on their defense."

It was a fast start to the game for the Bulls. Brendan McGuire netted his first of the season and in the NAHL when he converted a 2 on 1 break from Mike Davis at 5:52. The Bulls power play got into the act in the last quarter of the period. Mike Davis scored on a 5-on-3 delayed penalty call at 13:35 from Brady Ferguson and Kyle Gattelaro. Forty five seconds later, Gattelaro found the back of the net from Matt Sieckhaus and Joe Grabowski. The Bulls outshot the IceRays 12-8 in the first period.

Matt Sieckhaus heated up in the second period with a pair of goals. He completed a passing play with Roman Ammirato and Tyler Gernhofer at the 3:57 mark. Nine minutes later, the trio was at it again and Sieckhaus was able to finish off a play in front of the net.

The Corpus Christi IceRays netted their lone goal of the on the power play late in the period. That goal broke the shutout string of Collin Delia and stopped the Bulls mark of 33 straight penalty kills without allowing goal. The IceRays outshot the Bulls 11-10 in the second period.

"One area that we continue to have difficulty with is taking too many undisciplined penalties," Williams added. "There is a difference between hard-nose hockey and some silly penalties that we took. We have to tighten that up because they are a skilled team and can score on chances like that."

The Bulls added two more goals in a two-minute span midway through the third period. Carter Penzien scored on a shot from the top of the faceoff circle from Cody Gylling and Kyle Gattelaro. Matt Sieckhaus completed his hattrick when he tipped home a shot from Roman Ammirato and Gattelaro.

Williams said it was a great night for their forwards who all made solid contributions.

"I thought Brendan McGuire had a heck of a game," said Williams. "He was first on pucks, hitting guys and make separation between himself and the defense."

The Amarillo Bulls outshot the Corpus Christi IceRays 33-25 including 11-6 in the third period. There were three power play goals in the game with the Bulls going 2-for-6, while the IceRays were 1- for-7.

It's Pink in the Rink tomorrow (Saturday) night at 7 pm when the Bulls host the IceRays at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center.
