Amadeus Lombardi Named to 2022-23 OHL Second All-Star Team

Flint, Mich. - The Ontario Hockey League announced the All-Star teams for the 2022-23 season today with Firebirds forward Amadeus Lombardi being named to the Second All-Star team.

2022-23 OHL All-Star and All-Rookie Team Selections

Lombardi finished the season setting franchise records in both single-season assists (57) and points (102). He ranked third in the OHL in points and was tied for sixth in assists. He went on to play two games for the Grand Rapids Griffins in the American Hockey League (AHL), after the conclusion of the Firebirds season, adding one assist.

The native of Aurora, Ont. becomes the third Firebirds' player in history to be named to an OHL All-Star team with all of them coming in the last two seasons under Head Coach Ted Dent. He was selected by the Red Wings in the 4th round (#113 overall) in the 2022 NHL Draft after scoring 18 G and producing 41 A in his first season with the Firebirds. He was signed by Detroit back in December.

The Firebirds selected Lombardi in the 13th round (#245 overall) of the 2019 OHL Priority Selection. He sits second all-time in franchise history in points (161) and assists (98) as well as seventh all-time in goals (63).

OHL all-star and all-rookie teams were selected by the OHL's General Managers, with voting conducted in two stages beginning with a Conference ballot followed by a final ballot that integrated the top selections from both the Eastern and Western Conference results.
