Callin played his pre-junior hockey career with the Capitols AAA program. The season following, Callin played in 38 games for the Caps recording six points. In 2017-18, Callin became a mainstay in the Capitols lineup dressing in 60 games that season. He recorded 14 goals and 19 assists totaling 33 points that year. He ranked eighth on the team in points that season.
Following his time with the Capitols, Callin made his way to Clarkson University. He is now in his fifth season with the Golden Knights serving as the captain of the team after wearing the alternate captain 'A' last season. He's played in 130 games with Clarkson racking up over sixty points. He helped Clarkson collect the 2018-19 ECAC Hockey title during his freshman season.
