NORTH BAY, Ont. - Memories of the Gateway of the North's only Ontario Hockey League championship will be prominent Thursday night at Memorial Gardens when the North Bay Battalion celebrates Centennials Alumni Night with a banner-raising.

The restored 1993-94 OHL championship banner is to be unveiled in the rafters of the building where Jason Campeau scored in overtime of Game 7 to give coach Bert Templeton's North Bay Centennials victory in the OHL final series 25 years ago.

Among the Centennials alumni confirmed to be in attendance are Brad Brown, who assisted on the winning goal - an assist not recognized on the game sheet - Damien Bloye, Mike Burman, Steve McLaren, Brian Stagg, Scott Roche and Sandy Allan. They will be introduced to fans before the ceremonial puck drop.

The J. Ross Robertson Cup, emblematic of the OHL championship, will be in the building for photo opportunities with fans, and a video tribute will show highlights of the final series against the Detroit Jr. Red Wings that ended on May 11, 1994, with a 5-4 win.

The Battalion faces the Hamilton Bulldogs in the 7 p.m. game, which is sponsored by Skaters North.
