Saturday, May 2 - 5:05 p.m.

Blair County Ballpark - Altoona, PA

Game #22 Home Game #8

LAST NIGHT: Curve starter Daniel Moskos experienced a turbulent first inning, allowing four runs in the frame, which set the Curve back for the rest of the contest as they fell to Erie, 5-2 at Blair County Ballpark.

TONIGHT'S GAME AT A GLANCE: The Altoona Curve and Erie SeaWolves (AA - Detroit) will lock horns for the 10th time this season already...with the unbalanaced schedule in the Eastern League, Altoona will play the 'Wolves 14 more times after tonight's contest.

TONIGHT'S STARTING PITCHERS: Lefty Tony Watson will toe the rubber for the Altoona Curve tonight in his fifth start of the season. Last time out (4/26 at Akron), Watson did not factor in the decision allowing four unearned runs over 4.0 innings pitched. Watson makes his second start of the season against Erie. The Pirates' ninth round draft choice in 2007 from the University of Nebraska was Altoona's Opening Day starter at Erie on 4/9.

The 'Wolves will send right-hander Luis Marte to the mound. The 22-year old was signed by the Tigers as a non-drafted free agent in 2005. Marte makes his second appearance against Altoona. Marte suffered the loss against Altoona on 4/18 at BCB, allowing six runs (four earned) over 5.0 innings of work. Last time out (4/25) against Harrisburg, Marte notched the win over 7.0 innings.

DOUBLE YOUR PLEASURE: With the Curve pounding out seven doubles in Thursday's win versus Reading, the Curve broke a franchise record. Six doubles had been hit in a contest numerous times, with the last time coming on May 30, 2008 versus Erie...Altoona doubled three more times last night to give them 10 two-baggers in their last two games.

BULL OF A PEN: Over the last 15 games, Altoona's bullpen has been called to duty often. They have come through, tossing 67.1 innings over that span, allowing just 10 earned runs (1.34 ERA)...RHP Lincoln Holdzkom has also not allowed a run in his last five outings (9.2 ip)...RHP Jean Machi has only allowed one earned run in 11.2 innings pitched this season (0.77 ERA)...Additionally, the Curve 'pen as a collective unit is on a streak of 18.1 scoreless frames.

WHO SHOT THE SHERRIF: LHP Shawn Nottingham has appeared in nine games for the Altoona Curve and has performed well (0-1, 2.61). However, the team is 0-9 in games in which he appears.

CHAPTER ONE: The Altoona Curve have given up 25 first inning runs so far this season. Recently the team has permitted 10 first inning runs to cross the plate in the last three games they've played.
