Montreal Alouettes News Release
Montreal, February 20, 2004 - Sylvain Chamberland, President and Chief Executive Officer of CKAC/Radiomédia, and Larry Smith, Interim President of the Montreal Alouettes, are pleased to announce the signing of a new agreement to broadcast the Alouettes' games for the next three years.
Expressing his happiness, Mr. Chamberland said: "This renewal of our agreement with the Alouettes reconfirms the Radiomédia network's strength and predominance in sports right across Quebec. Radiomédia continues to demonstrate its leadership by providing sports fans with the opportunity to follow their professional teams' games live and to hear analysis by experienced commentators."
The Radiomédia-Alouettes partnership is a significant one. CKAC730 and all the other Radiomédia stations across Quebec - CHLT630 (Estrie), CHRC80, (Quebec City), CHLN550 (Mauricie), CKRS590 (Saguenay) and CJRC1150 (Gatineau) - broadcast the team's 18 regular-season matches as well as the post-season finals and pre-season exhibition games. Radiomédia will be devoting two separate shows exclusively to the Als - one on game day that will include pre- and post-game portions, and another 30-minute weekly show called Les Alouettes cette semaine, also broadcast across the entire network. Radiomédia will also be covering the team's training camp as soon as it starts in mid-May.
Larry Smith, Interim President of the Alouettes, said: "We are very pleased to be Radiomédia's partners because its great reach allows us to be in contact with all Québec football fans. Our association since 1999 has been a real success and that's why we have agreed to continue this excellent partnership."
