Alouettes Ink Gabriel Knapton and Marcus Cromartie

Montreal - The Montreal Alouettes announced on Thursday that the club has re-signed international defensive end Gabriel Knapton to a one-year deal and signed international cornerback Marcus Cromartie.

Knapton (6'3'', 265 lbs.) returned to Montreal in 2018 where he played the first four seasons of his career, from 2014 to 2017. In five games with the Alouettes last season the 29-year-old athlete made 11 defensive tackles and three quarterback sacks.

In 81 career-games in the CFL, the 29-year-old amassed 203 defensive tackles, including ten for losses, while registering 36 quarterback sacks. He also forced two fumbles and recovered one. Following his first CFL season in 2014, he was voted the Alouettes Most Outstanding Rookie.

Cromartie (6'0'', 195 lbs.) spent a few years in the NFL with San Diego, Cleveland, San Francisco, Buffalo, Seattle, Houston and Detroit. Native of New Orleans, LA, the 28-year- old cornerback made 19 tackles in 21 NFL games. The former Winsconsin Badger will experience the CFL for the first time.

The Alouettes have also added international wide receiver Gary McKnight Jr. to the roster and have released national defensive end Jabar Westerman and international cornerback Najee Murray.
