Troy, N.Y. - The top sluggers of the New York-Penn League will converge upon Joseph L. Bruno Stadium Tuesday evening for the All-Star Home Run Derby. The home run barrage commences at 6:00 pm with the All-Star game first pitch scheduled for 7:15 pm. Four participants from each league will compete along with two randomly selected fans.

The American League will be represented by Mike Lyon (Staten Island), Mitch Dening (Lowell), Adam Amar (Auburn) and Caleb Joseph (Aberdeen). The National League will be represented by Phil Disher (Tri-City), David Flores (Tri-City), Miguel Fermin (Jamestown) and Derek Norris (Vermont).

Fermin currently stands atop the New York-Penn League in home runs with 13 while the ValleyCats' Disher is in second with 11. Fermin also leads the league with a slugging percentage of .676 with Amar placing second at.554.

Disher's teammate and ValleyCats third baseman David Flores has hit 8 home runs so far this season along with a team-leading 15 doubles. Guerrero closely follows behind Flores with seven homers on the season and 13 doubles.

Joseph, the league leader in doubles with 17, has 5 home runs this season. His American League counterpart Lyon has hit five home runs with 24 runs batted in. Dening has been consistent at the plate this season, hitting .320 with three home runs and a .475 slugging percentage.

The sluggers will be joined in the Home Run Derby by two local fans that were randomly selected. Donald Carhart, Albany, and Bill Williams, Waterviliet, will compete to see if they have the muscle to put a ball behind the wall.

Each slugger will have eight outs. The participant with the most home runs will be crowned champion. If there is a tie between batters, a tie-breaking round will commence.
