NEWS AND NOTES
GAME RETURNS TO PORTLAND:The Portland Sea Dogs are hosting the All-Star for the second time in franchise history, as the Eastern Division battles the Western Division in the 13th annual Eastern League All-Star Game at Hadlock Field presented by Sullivan Tire...Portland first held the game on July 13, 2005 with the Northern Division beating the Southern Division, 9-6, in front of sellout crowd (before the U.S. Cellular Pavilion was installed) of 6,975.
LAST YEAR'S GAME: The Western All-Stars captured a 5-2 win over the Eastern Starts on July 16, 2014 at People's Natural Gas Field in Altoona, PA...Portland's Derrik Gibson gave the Eastern Division a 1-0 lead with a homer in the third...Steven Moya had the game-winning hit, blasting a grand slam in the bottom of the fifth inning...Gibson also had an RBI triple and scored on a ground out...Altoona's Ryan Beckman earned the win, and his Curve teammate Kenn Kasparek closed out the game to earn the save...Moya was awarded the MiLB.com Top Star Award.
