New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Fisher Cats return home after the All-Star break to open up a four-game home stand against the Portland Sea Dogs at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. The following is a glance at what's coming this weekend.
OPPONENT
Portland is currently sitting in last place in the Eastern League division. Portland's record stands at 32-59. The Fisher Cats have taken six of their eight meetings so far this year.
PORTLAND SEA DOGS PROSPECTS
Sam Travis (1B)- Sam was drafted in the second round of the 2014 draft by the Boston Red Sox, chosen as the 67th pick overall. The twenty-one year old is ranked twelfth on the Red Sox list of top prospects. He began the year in the Carolina league before he was pulled up to Portland. In 19 games with the Sea Dogs, he is batting .286 and has nine runs batted in.
Manuel Margot (OF)- Ever since Manuel Margot signed in July of 2011, he hasn't looked back. In his first professional game, he tripled, homered, and drove in six runs. This season, Margot began the year playing for Salem in the Carolina league and saw action in 46 games. He batted at .282 before he was sent up to the Sea Dogs. He is currently batting .278 with the Sea Dogs in 19 games. Margot is known particularly for his athleticism and his speed on the bases and in the outfield. He is the Red Sox 4th ranked prospect.
PROMOTIONS
Thursday, July 16: It's Goodwill Night at the ballpark where fans are encouraged to bring a gently used household item or clothing item to donate to Goodwill during the game. Don't miss out on a spectacular Atlas Fireworks presentation following the game.
Friday, July 17: We travel back in time 30 years to celebrate the Back to the Future trilogy at the ballpark. We'll have a DeLorean and Marty McFly's actual pick-up from the movies. There will also be a special 50's-style musical performance by Doo-Wop Deville in the Bar & Grill before the game.
Saturday, July 18: Don't miss out on a spectacular Atlas Fireworks presentation after the game!
Sunday, July 19: Join us as we celebrate National Ice Cream Day and give away 1,000 ice cream bowls thanks to ExpressMed Urgent Care. One fan will also win free ice cream for a year thanks to Hood. There will be a special guest appearance by Curious George, as well as Princesses Anna and Elsa, and Jack Sparrow for Princesses and Pirates Day. After the game kids can run the bases.
