
All-NAL Nose Guard Jonathan Taylor Returns to Sharks

JACKSONVILLE - The 2019 NAL Champion Jacksonville Sharks announced today that defensive lineman Jonathan Taylor will return to the Sharks for the 2020 season. Taylor is the fifth player to rejoin the Sharks from the 2019 championship roster. Last week lineman Derrick Zeigler, Jaleel Brown, linebacker/fullback Zack Brown, and defensive back Tony Goodman all re-signed with Jacksonville under Head Coach James Fuller.
Defensive Lineman Jonathan Taylor (6'6, 340) enters his second year with the Jacksonville Sharks after a successful 2019 championship season. As a rookie, Taylor racked up six sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and one safety. Taylor was a key factor on the defensive line as the team's starting nose guard earning Second Team All-NAL defensive honors.
Taylor finished his college career at Southeastern Louisiana University, where he made 34 tackles and two sacks during 11 games his senior year. Prior to SLU, he was a junior college standout at Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson, Mississippi. During his junior year, he was the number four ranked JUCO defensive lineman in the country (247sports.com). Jonthan Taylor began his college career at the University of Georgia where he played in 10 games as a redshirt freshman recording nine tackles, one sack, and one tackle for a loss.
A native of Millen, GA Taylor was an All-American and All-State defensive lineman for Jenkins County High School earning four-star prospect honors while also competing in the Under Armour All-American Game.
