
Alexandria defeats Edinburg

EDINBURG- Mike Loseke allowed only one run in a 6 2/3 inning stint as the Alexandria Aces defeated the Edinburg Roadrunners 9-1 Friday night.
Loseke (2-1) scattered nine hits and never was in any real trouble. The Aces scored two runs in the first on a Zack Cadet double and four walks by Edinburg starter Ryan Bean (0-1), who threw six wild pitches in a five inning stint.
Other big hits for Alexandria (14-14) included Eddie Murray's two out double in the top of the second to drive in Cadet to make the score 3-0 and Chad Bunting and Nick Mahin's "second to home" double steal in the fifth to give the Aces a 4-1 lead.
The Aces scored five runs of Edinburg (12-15) reliever Guadalupe Barrera in the top of the seventh, with newcomer Alex Foltz's 3-run double completing the scoring of the frame.
The Aces will now host the San Angelo Colts for four games beginning on Saturday, June 22 at 7:05. Clay Vanderlaan (0-2) pitches for Alexandria.
