Alex Lavoie Loaned to Oklahoma City of the American Hockey League

Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans of the Central Hockey League announced today that forward Alex Lavoie has been loaned to the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League on a player try out contract.

Alex Lavoie has played in 60 games for the Allen Americans this season, and leads the team in scoring with 76 points, scoring 25 goals with 51 assists.

"It's been an exciting week for me," said Lavoie. "First winning the award, and then to find out yesterday I was being loaned to Oklahoma City of the American Hockey League. I'm excited for the opportunity to get the chance to play at the AHL level. As a young player, it's a dream to get called up and play with some of the best players in the world."

The native of Anjou, PQ, signed as free agent with the Americans this season after playing in one game with Allen as an Amateur last post-season. Lavoie was named the Best Rookie in the recent CHL Best of the Best Poll for 2014. In addition to that honor, Lavoie has been named CHL Player of the Week, as well as Rookie of the Month, in the Central Hockey League.

Lavoie will suit up for the Oklahoma City Barons this weekend when they play the Texas Stars on Friday and Saturday night in Austin. Oklahoma City is the AAA Affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers.

The Allen Americans are back in action on Friday and Saturday night at home against the St Charles Chill at 7:05 pm . Tickets for all remaining home games are on sale at www.ticketmaster.com.
