First Cutthroats Loss in March

Prescott Valley - The Denver Cutthroats headed to Prescott Valley, Arizona to face off with the Arizona Sundogs on Wednesday, March 19. In their third shootout in three games, the Cutthroats fell 3-2 to the Sundogs.

Garett Bembridge (Steve Kaunisto, Dan Barczuk) scored the opening goal of the night to give the Cutthroats a 1-0 lead. Arizona's Brandon Coccimiglio (Bryan Cameron, Kevin Baker) tied the score at one with a shot past Denver's netminder Kent Patterson.

The Arizona Sundogs took a 2-1 lead during the second 20 minutes of play. Kevin Baker found the back of the Cutthroats net for the Sundogs second goal of the night and his 31st of the season.

Denver's Troy Schwab (Vincent Arseneau, Bembridge) scored the lone goal of the third period to tie the score at two and send the game into overtime. After five scoreless minutes, the Cutthroats saw their third consecutive shootout. This time Denver was not able to find the net, as Jason Morgan scored the game-winning goal to seal the Arizona Sundogs 3-2 victory over the Cutthroats.
