Albert Dikwa Named USL Championship Player of the Week

PITTSBURGH - Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC forward Albert Dikwa was named the USL Championship Player of the Week, presented by Konami eFootball, the league announced this afternoon.
Dikwa had two goals and an assist in last Saturday's 4-3 win on the road at FC Tulsa, which maintained the Hounds' undefeated start to the season and, at 4-0-1, gave the team its best five-game start to a season in club history.
Dikwa scored the game's opening goal just six minutes into the match, the fastest goal for the Hounds this season. After recording an assist on Alex Dixon's first-half goal, Dikwa scored again in the 60th minute to give the Hounds a 4-1 lead before Tulsa mounted a late comeback attempt.
The game was the first multi-goal game as a professional for Dikwa, a 24-year-old native of Cameroon. Already this season, his third with the Hounds, he has set career marks for goals (four) and points (10 - four goals, two assists) in just one month of play.
As Player of the Week, Dikwa also will be part of the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 5, which will be announced later this afternoon. He is the second Hounds player to win Player of the Week in 2022, joining Dane Kelly, who won the honor in Week 1.
The Hounds are aiming to extend their undefeated streak on the road again this weekend, when they travel to face Las Vegas Lights FC at 7 p.m. Saturday. That game will be shown on 22 The Point (WPNT) in Pittsburgh and streamed on ESPN+.
