Albany River Rats News Release
ALBANY, NY - The Albany River Rats announced today details surrounding the club's promotional activities scheduled for a pair of home games this weekend against the Rochester Americans and the Adirondack Phantoms at the Times Union Center.
The game on Friday night will feature the popular Aramark Dollar Dogs promotion where all fans can get $1.00 hot dogs and small sodas at select Times Union Center concession stands when the River Rats face-off against the Americans at 7:00 p.m. The contest will also feature the second installment of Albany's "Battle of the Bands" series, featuring another First Round Match-up between local bands Stript Smyle and Mariaville Cattle Company. Fan and judge's votes will have an equal say in which band advances to the next round.
Then Saturday night marks one of the most anticipated games of the season as the River Rats host the Adirondack Phantoms in Game Two of the Time Warner Cable Cup. The first 5,000 fans through the doors will receive a complimentary set of River Rats Thunderstix and the American Chemical Society will be on the arena concourse throughout the night with fun and educational science demonstrations for children. Kids 12 and under who participate will receive a set of River Rats goggles while supplies last.
Any Time Warner Cable customers who bring their bill to the Times Union Center box office are entitled to discounted tickets for the rivalry game ($13.00 for adults, $9.00 for children). Saratoga County residents who bring proof of residency to the box office on Saturday will be entitled to a $3 discount, as the River Rats officially kick-off their "Our Town, Your Team" promotion, which will offer ticket discounts to residents of various Capital District communities throughout the season.
Season and flexible ticket packages for the 2009-10 are now on sale at the River Rats executive offices at the Times Union Center, by calling (518) 487-2244 or by logging onto www.albanyriverrats.com.
