Binghamton Senators News Release

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The B-Sens travelled to Rochester to face the North Divisions' Amerks, winners of three games in a row, in the first of ten regular season match-ups between the teams in the 2009-10 season.

Binghamton dug themselves into an early hole. Just over the midway point of the first period the Amerks were up 3-0, prompting head coach Don Nachbaur to swap starting goaltender Andy Chiodo in favor of Mike Brodeur, who played in Rochester last season.

Victor Oreskovich, Evgeny Dadonov and Graham Mink all scored for the Amerks in the first period. Assistant captain Chris Taylor registered two assists.

Into the second period, Mike York gave the Amerks a commanding 4-0 lead at 1:54. Oreskovitch recorded his second point of the night with the assist.

At 10:46 of the second period the B-Sens would finally get on the board as Ryan Keller scored his fifth goal of the season. Martin St. Pierre and Josh Hennessy each earn an assist.

At 5:33 of the third period, Geoff Kinrade's first goal of the season narrowed the scoring deficit to two goals. St. Pierre earned his second point of the night with the assist. Denis Hamel also assisted Kinrade, extending his point scoring streak to seven games, the longest of any B-Sens player.

Despite outshooting the Amerks 11 to nine in the third period, the B-Sens fell short.

Binghamton returns to the ice Friday night, in Syracuse as they take on the Crunch.
