
AHL Announces Suspension
October 21, 2009 - American Hockey League (AHL) News Release
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. ... The American Hockey League today announced that Portland Pirates center Cody McCormickhas been suspended for five (5) games as a result of his actions in a game at Providence on Oct. 18.
McCormick was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 29.1 (supplementary discipline) after being penalized for leaving the players' bench on a legal line change for the purpose of starting an altercation.
McCormick will miss Portland's games on Friday (Oct. 23) and Saturday (Oct. 24) at Norfolk, Sunday (Oct. 25) at Hershey, Oct. 30 vs. Lowell and Oct. 31 vs. Bridgeport.
