- TODAY'S STORYLINES

Surgery For Wedgewood: The New Jersey Devils announced yesterday that Albany Devils goaltender Scott Wedgewood had successful surgery to fix a torn labrum in his right shoulder. His recovery time is approximately six months.

Wedgewood, who missed time last season with a shoulder injury, is 6-5-0 in 11 AHL games this year with a 2.72 goals-against average and an .897 save percentage. In 109 career games, he has posted a 50-36-9 mark with a 2.36 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage.

Downed In Bridgeport: The Devils had their three-game winning streak halted yesterday with a 5-4 shootout loss against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at Webster Bank Arena. Rookie John Quenneville, who leads the team with 17 points, registered his second straight three point game, producing a goal and two helpers. Ben Sexton and Kevin Rooney both posted a goal and an assist and Mackenzie Blackwood made 25 saves.

Boot Scootin' Boogie: The Devils will host their second annual "Country Night" during Friday's 7 pm contest against the Utica Comets. Fans are encouraged to dress in their best country western attire and country music will be played periodically throughout the game. WGNA will be at the event interacting with fans on the Times Union Center concourse.
