Washington, D.C- Washington Mystics Vice President and General Manager Angela Taylor announced today that Mystics guard Alana Beard will undergo ankle arthroscopy and ankle tendon repair surgery next week. She is expected to miss the 2010 WNBA season.
"We are disappointed for Alana because she is committed to doing whatever it takes to help our team to win. The surgery will be performed by world renowned foot and ankle surgeon, Dr. James Nunley who has previously treated Beard as well as other professional athletes.
