
Akeson Returned on Loan to Phantoms

Lehigh Valley, PA - The Philadelphia Flyers, parent club of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, have returned on loan forward Jason Akeson to the Phantoms.
A 24-year-old forward from Orleans, Ontario, Akeson was recalled from loan by the Flyers Saturday for Philadelphia's game at the Buffalo Sabres last night. A 5'10", 190-pound forward, Akeson has recorded eight goals, nine assists and 17 points in 19 games with Lehigh Valley this season. He began the season with the Flyers where he accumulated six penalty minutes over 12 games. The fourth-year pro currently ranks fifth on the Phantoms' all-time franchise list in assists (123), seventh in points (189), 11th in goals (66) and 12th in games played (227).
After a convincing 5-1 win over the Binghamton Senators at PPL Center last night, the Phantoms have won five of their last six games overall and return to action later day in a 5:00 PM showdown at the Hershey Bears.
Tickets are currently available for Lehigh Valley's next home game which comes this Wednesday, January 21st when the Phantoms welcome the rival Bears to PPL Center. In their 19th season of operation, the Phantoms are currently in the midst of their Inaugural Season as the Lehigh Valley Phantoms playing at the brand-new PPL Center. Established in 1996, the Phantoms spent their first 13 seasons at the Spectrum before re-locating to Glens Falls, New York in 2009 where the team spent the next five seasons as the Adirondack Phantoms. A new era of Phantoms hockey began in the fall of 2014 when the Lehigh Valley Phantoms began play at the state-of-the-art PPL Center. Through 18 incredibly successful campaigns, the Phantoms have captured two Calder Cup Championships (1998, 2005), two Conference Championships (1998, 2005), two Regular Season Titles (1996-97, 1997-98) and four Division Championships (1996-97, 1997-98, 1998-99, 2003-04).
