
AHL Prospect Mick Lawrence Signs with Brahmas

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (September 29)- The Brahmas offensive depth chart continues to fill up as they announced the signing of forward Mick Lawrence for the 2010-11 campaign.
Lawrence enters his third season of professional hockey following two seasons with the Las Vegas Wranglers of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL). As a Wrangler, the Port Coquitlam, BC native tallied 86 points (39 G, 47 A) in 102 regular season games. Last season in the playoffs, Lawrence had 4 points (1 G, 3 A) in five games. In the 2009 postseason, he amassed three goals in 13 games as a rookie.
Currently, Lawrence is attending training camp with the Oklahoma Barons (AHL). This is his second AHL camp invite, last year he skated with the Binghamton Senators. Brahmas Head Coach Dan Wildfong likes
"In the recruiting process we triple check every player we are interested in acquiring, and Mick continued to have great things reported. Based on this, we have high expectations for him this season and believe he will impress both the Oklahoma organization and us," said Wildfong.
Prior to going pro, Lawrence played four years at the University of Nebraska-Omaha (NCAA) and was the Maverick's leading scorer his senior season. In his collegiate career, the 5-foot-10 forward had nearly a point a game with 102 points (51 G, 51 A) in 116 games.
In juniors, Lawrence proved to have an offensive flair as he had 64 points (26 G, 38 A) in 58 games with the River City Lancers (USHL) in 2003-04 and 95 points (39 G, 56 A) in 56 games with the Trail Smoke Eaters (BCHL) in 2002-03.
PRESEASON GAME:

NHL PLAYER SUPPORTS CORPORATE CARE CLUB:
The Andy McDonald Foundation is now a proud member of the Texas Brahmas Corporate Care Club. The Corporate Care Club is a program started by the Brahmas in 1999 which allows underprivileged children the opportunity to attend a professional sporting event in their hometown. Last season more than 10,000 children and their families attended Brahmas games on behalf of local companies. McDonald is a former Stanley Cup champion and is currently a member of the St. Louis Blues (NHL).
BRAHMAS SEND FIVE TO BARONS (AHL) CAMP:
The Brahmas have sent five players to Oklahoma for the Barons' AHL training camp. Joining Mick Lawrence are forwards Brian Matte, Matt Pierce, Troy Schwab and goaltender Wayne Savage .
