
Aeros, RiverCatz to hook up for last time this season

SPRINGDALE, Ark. - The inaugural series between the state's first year American Basketball Association franchises will conclude Friday night when the Arkansas Aeros host the Arkansas RiverCatz at 7:05 p.m. at the All-Star Sports Arena in Springdale.
The Aeros (20-2) are currently the No. 1-rated team in the recently released ABA Power Rankings, while the RiverCatz (11-7) occupy the No. 14 spot.
Bob Hoffman's Aeros own a 4-0 season lead over Ed Corporal's Pine Bluff contingent, including 146-116 and 157-111 November at the All-Star Sports Arena where the team is undefeated at 13-0. The Aeros currently own a nine-game overall winning streak.
All five of the Aeros starters are averaging in double figures with four hitting at a 19.0 scoring clip or better. All-Star Curtis Haywood leads the team with a 29.0 scoring average, followed by Daryan Selvy (24.5), Todd Day (32.6), Jarred Merrill (19.0) and Quannas White (11.7)
Former Arkansas Razorback standout Kareem Reid is the straw that stirs the RiverCatz drink, averaging 31.9 points and 11.0 assists a contest. All-star selection Jeremy Bell and Kenny Langhorne average identical 19.1 points a game for the RiverCatz which includes on their roster, Garrett Richardson, grandson of legendary UA coach Nolan Richardson, who is scoring at a 10.8 clip.
