Arkansas Aeros News Release

SPRINGDALE -- Having not played in a little more than three weeks, the Arkansas Aeros shook off some early rust before pummeling the Knoxville Noise 162-95 Friday night at the All-Star Sports Arena in Springdale.

The Aeros (21-2) used a 50-point second quarter and a 56 percent shooting effort from the field as the catalysts for their 67-point victory over the Noise (5-7). Nine players from the ABA's No. 2-rated team scored in double figures with Daryan Selvy's 27 points in 26 minutes leading the squad.

Todd Day scored 20 for Arkansas with newcomers Kenny Langhorne and Kareem Reid chipping in 16 and 15 respectively in their Aeros debut. Jarred Merrill (15), Curtis Haywood (14), Steven Alexander (13), Lonnie Smith (12), and Jamel Coachman (12) also hit the double digit mark for the Aeros who have now won 10 games in a row and are a perfect 14-0 this season at the All-Star Sports Arena.

Selvy added a game-high 10 rebounds, while Reid dished out 13 assists to lead all players in just 22 minutes of work.

Toby Smith (28 points and 9 rebounds) was the main force for the Noise who were outrebounded 60-39 in the contest. The visitors committed 25 turnovers and shot just 39 percent for the contest.

The Aeros take to the road for the final time this season on Saturday as they travel to St. Louis to face the Stunners. Arkansas has defeated St. Louis 123-100 and 115-101 in two previous meetings this year in Springdale.

They will return home Sunday, Feb. 25 for a 4:05 meeting with the Waco Wranglers at the All-Star Sports Arena.
