Arkansas Aeros News Release
SPRINGDALE, Ark. - The Arkansas Aeros collected their 12th win in a row Sunday night after a 150-111 victory over the Waco Wranglers in American Basketball Association action at the All-Star Sports Arena in Springdale.
The win was the 15th in succession at home against no defeats for the Aeros, who somehow Sunday were still in the No. 2 spot of the ABA Power Rankings despite a loss this week by the top-rated Vermont Frostheaves. The contest also marked the fifth time this season the 23-2 Aeros have defeated the Wranglers (1-17).
Eight Aeros finished in double figures with Quannas White leading the way with 21 points. Kenny Langhorne came off the bench with 20 points in 15 minutes of work for the winners.
Melvin Allen had 27 and Sheldon Denson added 25 more for the Wranglers.
The Aeros led 71-49 at intermission and 117-80 at the end of the third quarter.
Sunday's contest featured six technical fouls, including two each on Waco's Reggie Griffin and Arkansas' Todd Day who were both ejected.
The two teams will square off again this coming weekend when Waco returns to the All-Star Sports Arena for contest Saturday and Sunday. Game time Saturday is 7:05 p.m. with tip-off Sunday set for 4:05 p.m.
