Arkansas Aeros News Release

SPRINGDALE - Despite the threat of inclement weather to the Northwest Arkansas region, Sunday's contest between the Arkansas Aeros and the Minnesota Ripknees is still on for 4:05 p.m. at the All-Star Sports Arena in Springdale. The contest between the Aeros (18-2), the No. 1 team in the American Basketball Association Power Rankings for the last seven weeks, and the No. 8-rated Ripknees (13-6) has been deemed a Prize Money contest by the ABA. Prize Money games are contests the league recognizes with cash bonuses being handed out Sunday to members of the winning team. The contest features three former University of Oklahoma standouts in Daryn Selvy and Quannas White of the Aeros and Johnnie Gilbert of the Ripknees. Former Sooner assistant coach Bob Hoffman is the head coach for the Aeros and was recently named to lead the West All Stars in next week's ABA All-Star Game in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Tickets for the game are available at any Take 2 Video Stores in Northwest Arkansas, on line at www.arkansasaeros.com or an hour before tip-off at the All-Star Sports Arena.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
