CEDAR PARK, Texas --- Mike Radja scored twice, Justin Fontaine had a power play goal and Jeff Taffe notched a pair of assists in his 500th AHL game in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Texas Stars Saturday at the Cedar Park Center on Saturday.

Goaltender Darcy Kuemper stopped 45 of 48 shots in regulation and overtime for Houston.

Ryan Garbutt scored the deciding tally for the Stars, who edged the Aeros 3-2 in the shootout session.

The Aeros have gone to extra time in the first two games of this weekend's 3-in-3 set and in three of their last five games. That's the second-most in the AHL (along with Grand Rapids and Rochester) behind Connecticut's 14 extra-session contests.

Radja scored 5:45 into the game and again at 6:46 of the middle stanza to put the Aeros up 2-0, but the Stars answered with goals 1:20 apart late in the second to even the score at 2-2. Stephen Schultz cashed in on a 5-on-3 power play at 16:07, and then Mike Hedden scored a shorthanded goal at 17:27. Travis Morin assisted on both goals. Justin Fontaine made good on the Houston power play attempt 32 seconds later to regain the Houston advantage.

The Stars battled back and tied it at 3-3 with 9:58 gone by in the third period on Colton Sceviour's power play tally.

The Aeros return home Sunday to host the San Antonio Rampage at 5:05 p.m. at Toyota Center.
