Aeros earn 6-1 victory

HICAGO --- Patrick O'Sullivan registered a goal and three assists while five other Aeros recorded goals as the Houston Aeros capitalized on four power play goals and a five-goal second period to take a convincing 6-1 victory over the Chicago Wolves in American Hockey League action on Saturday night at Allstate Arena.

The victory pulled the Aeros within two points of the first place Milwaukee Admirals in the AHL's West Division playoff race and also gave them a six-point cushion over the third place Texas Stars.

Casey Wellman and Jon DiSalvatore each had a goal and an assist for the Aeros while Nate Prosser added two assists. Goaltender Matt Hackett made 32 saves for his 22nd win of the season.

The Aeros rattled off five unanswered goals in the second period, starting with Patrick O'Sullivan's 18th goal of the season just 1:04 into the stanza, and never looked back.

The Aeros return home for the regular season finale versus the Oklahoma City Barons on Sunday, April 10 at 4:05 p.m. Calder Cup Playoff dates, opponent and ticket info will be announced soon.
