Akron RubberDucks News Release

ALTOONA, PA - Unplayable field conditions forced the postponement of Tuesday's game between the Aeros and the Altoona Curve. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Wednesday starting at 5:05 p.m., and the twin-bill will consist of two seven-inning games.

Blair County Ballpark absorbed heavy rains over the weekend, and even with sunny skies Tuesday the infield was simply not sturdy enough to play on.

Left-hander Chuck Lofgren (1-3, 5.51 ERA), now working on eight-days rest, will start game one of the doubleheader Wednesday with southpaw David Huff (2-1, 2.52 ERA) following in game two. The Curve will counter with lefty Corey Hamman (0-5, 5.03 ERA) in game one and right-hander Jimmy Barthmaier (2-1, 5.29 ERA) in game two. First pitch is slated for 4:50 p.m. with the game broadcast getting underway at 5:05 p.m. on SportsRadio 1350 AM and online at www.akronaeros.com. For more information, please call the Aeros at (330) 253-5151.
