
Adolfo Named White Sox Minor League Player of the Month

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. - The Chicago White Sox have named Kannapolis Intimidators right fielder Micker Adolfo the organization's Minor League Player of the Month for May, the big league club announced Thursday. Adolfo, who during the month compiled a 16-game hitting streak, batted .333 (24-96) with two home runs, 11 doubles, one triple and 17 RBI over 24 games.
The 6-foot-3, 225-pound Adolfo is hitting .295 (46-156) with 15 doubles, two homers, 21 RBI and 21 runs scored over 40 games this season, his fourth in the White Sox organization after signing as an international free agent on July 2, 2013. He is tied for fourth in the South Atlantic League in doubles.
Entering the 2017 season, Baseball America rated Adolfo as having the Best Outfield Arm in the White Sox system. In 2016 Adolfo batted .219 with five home runs and 21 RBI in 65 games and 247 at-bats with Kannapolis.
The White Sox named Class AA Birmingham pitcher Michael Kopech, rated as the No. 2 prospect in Sox system (No. 11 overall) by MLB.com, was named the organization's Minor League Pitcher of the Month.
Adolfo is the second member of the Intimidators to earn a White Sox Minor League monthly plaudit. Pitcher Dane Dunning was named the organization's Minor League Pitcher of the Month for April after making four starts with Kannapolis.
The Intimidators are home this weekend for a series against the Greensboro Grasshoppers. On Friday, the Intimidators are hosting a Salute to the A.L. Brown Wonders Baseball & Softball teams. Saturday is Superhero Night featuring appearances by Spiderman and Wonder Woman plus post-game Superhero-themed fireworks presented by Charlotte Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat Associates.
