ABOUT LAST GAME: The Fireflies swept the GreenJackets with a 4-3 victory on Wednesday night at Spirit Communications Park. It's the second series sweep for the club over Augusta in 2017. Merandy Gonzalez earned his seventh win as a starter and logged a career-high 10 strikeouts.

FLEXIBLE: Milton Ramos has played 27 of his 36 games at third base this year (only three starts at shortstop). He played 104 games at shortstop in 2016. Ramos has also been hot at the plate recently with four runs and four hits in his last two games at home. Before this, the infielder had just eight hits at home all season. The infielder is hitting .271 on the road compared to just .176 batting average at home.

JAB ON 'EM: Jay Jabs has four doubles in his last five games. Prior to this, Jabs had only two doubles in his first 17 games.

EXPLOSION: Columbia's offense was lethal in its three-game series against Augusta this week. The Fireflies outscored the GreenJackets 26-7 at Spirit Communications Park.

GOODBYE, MAY: Columbia finished the month of May with a 14-11 record and ended the month winning six of the last nine. Dash Winningham had a wonderful month, hitting .289 with six homers and 23 RBIs in 23 games. Starter Jordan Humphreys won three of his four starts (while posting a 1.04 ERA) and reliever Max Kuhns hurled 9.2 consecutive scoreless innings.

WHO ARE YOU?: The Fireflies begin a four-game series with the Hagerstown Suns on Thursday. It is the only collision between the two clubs all season. The Suns lead the South Atlantic League with a .276 team batting average and 48 home runs. Daniel Johnson leads the squad with 10 long balls in 2017.
