NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk Admirals announce today that the club has signed defenseman Charles-Olivier Roussel through the 2015-16 season.

Roussel, 23, began his professional career in the ECHL with the Cincinnati Cyclones in 2012-13, but played 17 games for Milwaukee in the American Hockey League (AHL). Nashville's second-round pick in 2009 stayed on with Milwaukee for the entire 2013-14 campaign, making 66 appearances and logging 19 penalty minutes and a plus-3 on-ice rating. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound defenseman returned to the ECHL last season, and skated in seven contests for Utah and 19 for Greenville. The St. Eustache, Quebec native has plenty of experience playing under Admirals head coach Eric Veilleux. Roussel scored 29 goals, finished with 111 points, and was a plus-30 over three seasons with Veilleux in Shawinigan of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) from 2007-2010.

The Admirals open the 2015-16 season at home on October 16 versus the Wheeling Nailers at 7:30 p.m. Season tickets start at $400 and 10-pack tickets start at just $125. Opening Night Packages are on sale now for only $45. For more information visit NorfolkAdmirals.com or call the Admirals Administrative Office at 757-640-1212.
