Admirals Ink Five to AHL Deals

Milwaukee, WI-The Milwaukee Admirals announced today that they have signed forwards Bryan Leitch, Mike McLean, and Mark Van Guilder (VAN GILL-duhr) and defensemen Reid Cashman and Jason Jozsa (JOH-sah) to two-way AHL/ECHL contracts.

Van Guilder is the lone member of the quintet to have previous experience with the Admirals, having skated in five games for Milwaukee last season. The Roseville, MN native spent the majority of 2008-09 with the Cincinnati Cylones, where he led the team in scoring with 70 points (26g-44a) in 65 regular season games and seven points (3g-4a) in 15 playoff contests. Van Guilder also played three games with the Hamilton Bulldogs last year.

Jozsa played last season with the Grand Rapids Griffins where he collected a goal and six assists in 50 games during the regular season and five assists in ten post-season frays. The Colorado College alum has played in 82 career AHL contests with the Griffins, Quad City Flames and Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights, and helped the Las Vegas Wranglers (ECHL) reach the Kelly Cup Finals in the 2007-08 campaign.

Leitch begins his first professional season after leading the NCAA in both scoring (59) and assists (47) at Quinnipiac University in 2008-09. In four years at Quinnipiac he collected 53 goals and 116 assists for 169 points in 157 career games. McLean split time last season between the Lake Erie Monsters (AHL) and the Dayton Bombers (ECHL). He notched 46 points (17g-29a) in 47 games for the Bombers, while posting four goals and eight assists in 25 contests for Lake Erie. Cashman also divided his time between the ECHL and AHL last year, recording 29 points (7g-22a) in 33 games with the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL and six points (2g-4a) with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (AHL).

The Admirals will kick off the 2009-10 season on Saturday, October 3rd in Chicago and have their home opener set for Saturday, October 24th against Manitoba at the Bradley Center.
