Admirals and Skalde Mutually Agree to Part Ways

April 21, 2015 - American Hockey League (AHL) - Norfolk Admirals News Release

NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk Admirals announced today that Head Coach Jarrod Skalde and the team have mutually agreed to part ways. No replacement has been named.

"Jarrod's a good coach and person, and we appreciate what he's done for us," said Assistant General Manager Bob Ferguson. "He kept the team working hard through the rigors and grind of an AHL season. With our transfer to San Diego upcoming, we've decided mutually to part ways. We wish him the very best in the future."

Skalde, 44, finished his first year as an AHL head coach with a 27-39-6-4 record. Prior to joining the Admirals in 2013 (originally as assistant coach), Skalde spent two years as head coach of the IHL's Bloomington PrairieThunder from 2008-10 and three seasons as bench boss of the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL from 2010 to 2013.
