
Admirals and Pirates split weekend battle

NORFOLK, VA - The Admirals hosted the Portland Pirates for two games this past weekend, with each team claiming one victory. On March 24th, after jumping out to a 3-0 lead early in the third, Norfolk held off a comeback bid by Portland, with Adam Munro making 41 saves in the Admirals' 3-2 win. In Saturday's rematch, the Pirates scored three times in the final stanza to come from behind and defeat the Admirals 5-3.
STANDINGS
At 36-26-4-4 (80 pts), Norfolk is currently third in the East. The division is led by Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (45-16-5-5, 100 pts), followed by Hershey (41-19-3-10, 95 pts) in second. Bridgeport (36-28-4-3, 79 pts), Binghamton (30-32-4-4, 68 pts) and Philadelphia (29-33-1-7, 66 pts) trail the Admirals.

TEAM NOTEBOOK
- On March 25th the Admirals scored three power play goals for the first time in one month. The last time they scored thrice with the man-advantage was February 25th at Springfield.
- Norfolk has been outshot in five straight games (since 3/17 vs. Hartford), the longest such streak this season.
- Carl Corazzini has 10 points (7g, 3a) in his last eight matches (since March 8th at Binghamton).
- Matt Keith (2g, 2a), Quintin Laing (2g, 4a) and Pavel Vorobiev (1g, 3a) have points in three straight contests.
- Mark Cullen had two assists and James Wisniewski chipped in one assist in Chicago's 5-4 OTL to San Jose Sunday.
- Adam Munro has won three consecutive decisions (since March 17th vs. Hartford) and four of five starts.
- Corey Crawford has lost a season-high four straight starts (since March 5th at Bridgeport) and is winless in his last three home games (since February 17th vs. Manchester).
