PENSACOLA, Fla., - The Southern League of Professional Baseball Clubs announced that RHP Tim Adleman of the Pensacola Blue Wahoos has been selected as the Pitcher of the Week for June 22 through 28.
Although he logged just one start last week, Adleman made the most of his eight shutout innings on the mound. In the Blue Wahoos tight 1-0 vitory at Mississippi on June 27, Adleman allowed just four hits and a walk, while striking out five Braves batters. Earning his third win of the season, the Wilton, Connecticut native reduced his ERA on the season to a miniscule 2.09, third lowest in the league. Selected by the Reds in the 24th Round of the 2010 draft out of Georgetown, this is Adleman's first career Pitcher of the Week award.
3B Miguel Sano of the Chattanooga Lookouts was named Player of the Week.
