Acrodunk To Perform During Historic Hoops For The Cure Night Game Saturday

MCALLEN, TEXAS - The NBA Development League Rio Grande Valley Vipers announced today that Acrodunk will perform at halftime of Saturday's 7:30 p.m. Hoops for the Cure Night against the Tulsa 66ers at State Farm Arena, courtesy of Doctors Hospital at Renaissance.

The game will be carried on VERSUS (channel 314 (SD)/1314 (HD) on Time Warner Cable and channel 151 on Dish Network), presented by Papa John's Pizza, starting at 10:00 p.m. This is the second of three nationally televised Vipers home games this season, marking the first time a Rio Grande Valley team has ever had nationally televised home games.

Acrodunk previously performed at halftime of the Vipers game on December 26, 2008. Video of the performance can be seen at rgvipers.com. Acrdounk has also performed in numerous NBA arenas and is "an exciting entertainment team that combines edgy street ball flavor with Cirque du [Soleil-style] showmanship" as they entertain the hometown crowd with high-flying dunks and eye-popping tricks.

Additionally, the first 1,000 fans through the doors will receive jersey backpacks, courtesy of Delta DME. Doors open at 6:30.

The festivities begin at 8:00 a.m. with a 5K walk at State Farm Arena. All participants will receive t-shirts, tickets to the ensuing tailgate party and the game. The tailgate party begins at 5:00 p.m. with food and beverages to be provided by Pepper's at Uptown, Roosevelt's at 7 and L&F Distributors. All proceeds benefit the Renaissance Cancer Foundation.

There will also be an opportunity to win great prizes and bid on Houston Rockets memorabilia.
