Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers® (8-9) were defeated by the Alaska Aces (11-2) 3-1 in Game 3 of the National Conference Finals in front of 3,612 fans at the Orleans Arena on Tuesday night. Alaska forward Josh Soares scored the game-winning goal with just over four minutes remaining in the third period, giving the Aces a 3-0 series lead. Aces goalie J.P. Lamoureaux made 33 saves in his 11th win of the playoffs. Forward Vladimir Novak also tallied two goals for the Aces. Las Vegas goalie Glenn Fisher stopped 36 of 38 shots in the loss. Forward Tyler Mosienko scored the lone Las Vegas goal. Las Vegas will host Alaska for Game 4 Thursday night at 7:30 PM.
In the first period, Las Vegas opened the scoring with a goal from forward Tyler Mosienko. Forward Mike Hamilton set up Mosienko for his third goal of the playoffs at 15:48 of the opening period, giving the Wranglers a 1-0 lead.
Alaska pulled even with a goal from forward Vladimir Novak at 2:46 of the second period. Novak knocked in a bouncing puck for his fourth goal of the playoffs to tie the game 1-1.
In the third period, Alaska forward Josh Soares put the Aces up 2-1 with just over four minutes remaining in regulation. Soares snapped a wrist shot in for his ninth goal of the playoffs at 15:49. Novak tallied an empty-net goal at 19:24 to cap a 3-1 Alaska win.
Las Vegas will host Game 4 on Thursday May 14th, and if needed, Game 5 would be on Friday May 15th, at 7:30 PM.
