
Aces swept by Wings

Harlingen, TX, Saturday August 11, 2007- In Game2 of a double header the Aces lost a close one to the Rio Grande WhiteWings by the score of 3-1 at Harlingen Field.
WhiteWings starter Julian Williams worked 5.0 innings to earn the win, allowing one run, which was unearned, on four hits, while walking six and striking out three. Williams (5-4) worked out of countless jams that he got himself into via the walk. Chris Gale worled a scoreless sixth, allowing only a two single to Bryan Sabatella. Derek Bennett worked a oerfect seventh to recore his 18th save of the season.
Aces starter Brian Bunyan worked 4.2 innings, allowing three runs on four hits, while walking one and striking out one. Charlie Foster worked a scoreless 1.1 innings of relief, retiring every batter he faced.
Tyrone Pendergrass and Bryan Sabatella were the only two Aces that had multiple hit games. Pendergrass was 2-for-4 with a run scored, and Sabatella was 2-for-3 with with a single and a double. Selwyn langaigne added the only other hit for Alexandria. The Aces managed only six hits combined in the double header.
Ryan Fox added his 21st home run of the season off of Brian Bunyan in the fourth inning for Rio Grande. Bub Bergstrom was 1-for-2 with a run scored, and Danillo Reynoso was 1-for-2 with a run scored as well.
The loss drops the Aces to 56-32 overall and 29-10 in the second half.
The win improves the WhiteWings to 45-42 overall and 16-22 in the second half.
