Alexandria Aces News Release
The Alexandria Aces announced today the signing of third baseman Dave Molidor for the upcoming season. Molidor (6-foot-4, 220) split playing time last season between two Western Baseball League clubs.
The San Francisco native hit a combined .280 with 3 home runs with the Sonoma County Crushers and Solano Steelheads in 2002.
A 14th-round pick of the Cincinnati Red in the 2001 draft, Molidor began his pro career with the Pioneer League champion Billings Mustangs. He hit .246 his rookie season with 3 home runs and 30 RBIs.
Molidor is the fifth Aces player signed to a contract for the 2003 Central Baseball League season.
The Central Baseball League is an independent league of ten professional teams located throughout four southern states. The league is preparing for its 10th season this summer with teams located in Amarillo, Edinburg, Rio Grande Valley (Harlingen), San Angelo, Robstown and Ft. Worth, Texas; Alexandria and Shreveport, Louisiana; Springfield/Ozark, Missouri and Jackson, Mississippi. The CBL will play a 96-game schedule between May and August 2003.
