ANCHORAGE, ALASKA - Alaska Aces goaltender Michael Garteig has been re-assigned by the NHL Vancouver Canucks to AHL Utica.

Aces Head Coach and President of Hockey Operations Rob Murray made the announcement Tuesday.

Garteig, 25, has played in 22 games for Alaska. He is 11-6-1-2 with a 3.11 goals against average and a .906 save percentage. The Prince George, BC native has already played this season for Utica, playing in 4 games. He was 0-1-1 with a 2.85 goals against average and .907 save percentage.

Kevin Carr is the Aces other goaltender. Alaska has signed Salt Lake City native Jay Stevens as an emergency backup.

The Aces are in Salt Lake preparing for a three-game series with the Utah Grizzlies Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at the Maverik Center.

In other Aces news, center Tim Coffman was a runner-up this week for the ECHL's Player of the Week. In one game at Elmira and two at Manchester, Coffman scored 5 goals with 2 assists for 7 points including a hat trick and game-winning goal. Trevor Cheek of the Fort Wayne Comets captured the award this week.
