Erie Otters News Release
The Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League have announced that defenseman Evan Accettura has been re-assigned to the Wheatfield Blades of the Junior B Golden Horseshoe Hockey League.
Accettura, who was born June 12, 1992, has not dressed for the Otters this season. The 6-3, 195-lb. defenseman was acquired by Erie from the Brampton Battalion along with a sixth-round selection in the 2011 OHL Priority Selection for forward Sean Jones in August.
The Novi, Mich., native was originally drafted by the Battalion in the seventh round of the 2008 OHL Priority Selection. He collected seven points (1g, 6a) in 29 games with the Compuware Under-18 squad last season.
The Otters host the Eastern Conference leading Barrie Colts for the only time this season Friday night at 7:00 p.m. The first 2,500 adults 18-and-over will receive a scratch-off lottery ticket from the Pennsylvania Lottery. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster, the Tullio Arena box office, or by calling 452-4857.
The Erie Otters Second Annual Teddy Bear Toss is this Saturday! Bring a new or gently used stuffed animal to the game and receive a voucher for a free ticket to a future Otters game (maximum of four, some restrictions apply). When the Otters score their first goal, the stuffed animal are thrown onto the ice and collected for donation throughout the Erie-area. Game time is 7:00 p.m. against the Sarnia Sting. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster, the Tullio Arena box office, or by calling 452-4857.
