Belleville Bulls defenceman Shawn Lalonde has been selected to participate in Canada's National Junior Team Selection Camp being held December 12-16 in Regina, Saskatchewan. Lalonde had previously attended Canada's Summer Evaluation Camp in August along with recently participating in the 2009 Subway Super Series. Last year, former Bulls defenceman P.K. 36 players were invited to the selection camp and will participate in two red-white intrasquad games and one game against a team comprised of CIS players from the University of Saskatchewan and the University of Regina. Once the team is named at the conclusion of the selection camp in Regina, Canada's National Junior Team will play in three exhibition games prior to the 2010 World Junior Championship. Canada will then play its first game of the 2010 World Junior Championship on December 26 versus Latvia.

Lalonde is in his fourth season with Belleville and currently leads the team in scoring with seven goals and 22 points in 21 games played while also adding 36 penalty minutes. Last season, he recorded 19 goals and 53 points in 66 games played with the Bulls. The Orleans, Ontario native was selected in the third round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks and was the Bulls first round pick in the 2006 OHL Priority Selection.
