Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

Outfielder Reggie Abercrombie continued his hot spring hitting, belting a three-run homer to pace the Albuquerque Isotopes to an 8-3 win over the Memphis Redbirds in Spring Training action today in Jupiter, Florida. Abercrombie, who has three home runs in spring play, added a run scoring single, giving him four RBI on the day as Albuquerque improved its spring record to 5-3-1.

First baseman Jason Stokes drove in two runs with a two-out single, while Scott Seabol belted an RBI double, and Josh Labandeira had two hits for the third straight game while also driving in a run.

On the mound, starting pitcher Jeff Fulchino threw five strong innings en route to the victory, his second of Spring Training.

Albuquerque's roster also continues to take shape, as spectacular infielder Robert Andino was optioned to Triple-A, meaning he will begin the 2007 campaign in Albuquerque, where he was widely regarded as the best defensive shortstop in the Pacific Coast League a year ago and was the Isotopes' lone representative in the Triple-A All-Star Game.

The Isotopes will look to make it two wins in a row tomorrow when they host the New Orleans Zephyrs in Jupiter.
