
Abel Sharp; Martin Drives in Pair in 3-1 Friday Win

WILMINGTON, DE - Mick Abel gave up one run over six innings and Casey Martin drove in two runs as the BlueClaws topped Wilmington 3-1 on Friday night at Frawley Stadium.
The teams have now split the first four games of their six game series.
The BlueClaws (27-46) got RBI doubles from Casey Martin in the third inning and Baron Radcliff in the fourth inning to take a 2-0 lead.
Meanwhile, Abel (5-6) carried a shutout into the sixth inning when Israel Pineda singled home Wilmington's first run.
Martin then singled home a run in the seventh to put the BlueClaws up 3-1. The BlueClaws shortstop has seven hits in the first four games of this series, including a pair of home runs.
Abel, the Phillies first-round pick in the 2020 draft, allowed just one run over six innings. He walked four and struck out four. Erubiel Armenta threw a scoreless seventh and Andrew Schultz threw a scoreless eighth. Schultz has allowed three earned runs in 17 innings since May 1st.
Aidan Anderson, who saved six games in June, picked up his seventh save of the season in the first game of August.
Martin had two hits for the BlueClaws in the win.
Seth Shuman (3-2) gave up two runs in five innings and took the loss for the Blue Rocks (38-34).
The teams continue their series on Saturday night and finish on Sunday afternoon. The BlueClaws return home on Monday night for a July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza, presented by Camping World.
