Aaron Rodgers Appearing at Wave Game on Behalf of MACC Fund

MILWAUKEE (February 14, 2011) ‚¬" Super Bowl XLV MVP Aaron Rodgers will be attending the Milwaukee Wave game on March 13th at 3:00 pm on behalf of the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer (MACC Fund). Twelve randomly selected fans that have purchased tickets prior to March 1st will have the opportunity to attend the VIP Reception and meet Mr. Rodgers.

The Wave is thrilled to team up with the MACC Fund and Rodgers' management team from RBSH Enterprises to raise funds to fight childhood cancer and related blood disorder research. The Wave will be wearing custom MACC Fund jerseys which will be auctioned off as part of the season long M&I Charitable Jersey Program with all proceeds benefiting the MACC Fund. The Milwaukee Wave will also donate $2 from tickets purchased to the MACC Fund.

MACC Fund Executive Director, John Cary, recently stated, "Aaron sits atop his sport due to his hard work, he "gets it" off the field, and is a genuine nice guy. His desire to help others like the MACC Fund is shown firsthand with his kind words, smile, handshake and the time he takes with his new friends that are battling cancer. The world knows what the MACC Fund already knew, that he is a winner on and off the field."

In addition to the VIP Reception an additional twelve random fans will be selected right before the start of the game to win a number ‚¬Ëœ12' Wave Rodgers jersey which they can take and have autographed by Mr. Rodgers.

Rodgers has been involved with the MACC Fund for the past year. He is one of several members of the MACC Fund's Honorary Athletic Board which includes other notable members such as the University of Wisconsin head men's basketball coach Bo Ryan, Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Paul Molitor, and PGA Champion Mark Wilson.

When the MACC Fund started in 1976 the overall cure rate for all types of childhood cancer was 20% and now through the significant impact in cancer research the overall cure rate for all types of childhood cancer is 80%. The MACC Fund has contributed $36 million to childhood cancer and related blood disorder research thanks to generous donors, participants, and volunteers.

The Milwaukee Wave is currently in second place and has three home games remaining: February 19th, March 6th and March 13th.

The Milwaukee Wave professional indoor soccer team is the longest-running professional soccer team in the country. The Wave completed their 26th season by winning the Major Indoor Soccer League regular season championship. Their summer camp program is the largest team-operated program in the country.
