October 8, 2014 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Oshawa Generals News Release

This weekend, the Oshawa Generals play twice on home ice. Fall is upon us and this is the perfect time to make a trip to the GM Centre for some Generals action. The first game is taking place on Friday, Oct. 10 versus the Plymouth Whalers at 7:35 p.m. Our second home game this weekend is happening on Thanksgiving Monday, Oct. 13 at 2:05 p.m. against the Ottawa 67's.

Friday, Oct. 10

Friday marks the first time that the Generals meet the Whalers this season. The Whalers currently sit in fifth place in the Western Conference with five points. Since their game on Sunday, Oct. 5, the Generals won't play again until Oct. 10. This could prove to be an advantage for the team who have been working hard in practice to prepare for this Friday's game.

During Friday's game, look out for Plymouth left winger, Matt Mistele, a native of Whitby, Ontario and currently third in points for the Whalers with two goals and three assists in four games played. Number 90, Matthew Campagna and number 16, Victor Crus Rydberg have both scored six points respectively in four games. All of these veteran players should put up some tough competition for the Generals this Friday.

Friday Night Live is back again this week. Head to Prospects Bar & Grill after the game to grab a beer and catch some live entertainment from Anastasia Tsagrinos.

Monday, Oct. 13

Our opponent on Monday, the Ottawa 67's currently sit in last place in the Eastern Conference following four losses in four games played. Monday marks the second time that the Generals will meet the 67's in the regular season. In their first matchup on Friday, Oct. 3, the Generals took the game 3-0. The Generals are looking to dominate the 67's again

The Generals have had a great start to the season, with several comeback wins keeping things exciting all the way into the final seconds of each game. Keep an eye out for Generals veterans, Cole Cassels, Chris Carlisle, Bradley Latour and Hunter Smith who have combined put up 23 points in five games played. Michael Dal Colle is also back in Oshawa and opened his first game back with two points. Sam Harding, in his sophomore season with the Generals has already scored five points for the team, including a hat trick in our season home opener. Newcomer, Tobias Lindberg is helping the team offensively, scoring five points since the start of the season. We can't forget about Kenny Appleby who has been a key to the Generals success thus far, only allowing five goals past him in four games, demonstrating why he is currently the top goalie in the league.

The weekend is fast approaching so make plans to come on down to one or both of these games with your friends or family. You can also get your tickets in person at the General Motors Centre Box Office or over the phone at 1-877-436-8811.
