Belleville Bulls News Release
BELLEVILLE, ON - Coming off back to back wins over one of the top teams in the CHL, the Belleville Bulls look to continue their hot start to the 2014/15 season Wednesday night as they welcome the Plymouth Whalers to the friendly city. The Bulls are a perfect 2-0 at the Yardmen Arena thus far and sit 3rd in the OHL's Eastern Conference. After sweeping a home-and-home against the Kingston Frontenacs the Bulls are eager to add another win to their 4-1-0-0 record.
The first Sunday afternoon game of the season saw the Bulls walk away with a come from behind victory over the Frontenacs. Dallas Stars prospect Remi Elie continued to prove why he is one of the elite forwards in the league as he buried two goals in the third period, one short handed. Elie leads his club with 4 goals and 7 points in 5 games played. Chad Heffernan also made an impact as he chipped in with a goal of his own in the second frame. In his first season as a Belleville Bull, forward Brett Gustavsen continued his strong play and picked up of the campaign. Charlie Graham made 28 saves as the Bulls handed the Frontenacs their second loss of the season. Last season, the Bulls did not have 4 wins until November 2nd.
Following a tough road loss to the defending OHL Champion Guelph Storm, a win over the London Knights last weekend put the Whalers back on the right track. Danny Vanderwiel, Francesco Vilardi and Mathew Campagna, who scored his 4th of the year, lead Plymouth to the win over London as netminder Alex Nedeljkovic stopped 33-of-34 shots. Matt Mistele, LA Kings draftee, contributed two assists for Plymouth as they skated to a 3-1 victory in front of their home town fans. The Whalers will also make a stop in Oshawa Thursday night before heading back home to take on the Peterborough Petes on Saturday to round out the week.
Plymouth's only visit to the Yardmen Arena this season is set for 7:05 PM. Representatives from the Special Olympics will be on hand collecting donations throughout the game. Tickets are still available for purchase, stop by the Bulls Box Office or visit yourbulls.com to get yours today!
